The services included consultation with prominent business owners within and outside the African continent, identification of African business-entrepreneurs that could serve as role models on the basis of their acumen and success and provision of recommendations for the project roll out.

Supported a successful application to the Danida Business Partnerships by Continental Forests in Uganda

Together with Global Woods, a Danish forestry investment company, it developed a “Company Driven Rural Development” Business Model focusing on sustainable forestry in the Kikonda forest plantation in Uganda. The design of this model relied heavily on the strong evidence-base available, using an in-depth baseline study conducted in the area a few months prior to the project design.

Developed and Managed an Africa-Wide Football for an HIV-Free Generation program

The program brought together grassroots organizations and businesses to help prevent the spread of HIV among African youth. CSI+ helped mobilize funding for the initiative, expanded the network of local and international businesses and organizations participating, and helped organize advocacy and training activities in the months leading up to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa

Designed Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Project Innovates the Vanilla Market in Uganda

CSI+ has designed and is playing a central role in the implementation of a CSR partnership between a major, global flavor company and a local vanilla processing company in Uganda. The innovative project will in addition to creating a market for sustainably sourced Ugandan vanilla, also carry out a series of mutually re-inforcing activities to improve the livelihoods of some of the most impoverished farmers.
