African Development Bank Hosts Meeting on Social Protection

On 2-3 December 2010, CSI+ joined the African Development Bank in organizing and facilitating a consultative meeting on Social Protection with high-level experts from Africa and Europe. Participants in the day and a half long event included practitioners from UN Agencies, Bilateral Aid Agencies, Regional Member Countries, in addition to relevant Bank staff. Hosted by the Bank’s Poverty Reduction and Social Protection Division of the Human Development Department, those gathered discussed key challenges to Social Protection in Africa and defined priorities for intervention, thus contributing recommendations to inform the strategic orientation and content of the Bank’s Social Protection Approach Paper.
